Privacy & cookies
Last updated: July 2026
BestReviews.co.uk is a UK product review site. We don't ask you to register, we don't run a newsletter, and we don't sell anything directly — so we collect very little about you. This page explains exactly what we do collect, what gets set on your device, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or accounts, because the site has no feature that asks for them. The only personal data processed is what your browser sends to our analytics provider: approximate location (country/region level), device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived.
If you email us, we hold that email in order to reply. We don't add it to any list.
Cookies and similar technologies
Three things may be set when you visit:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures traffic and which guides get read. It sets cookies
(typically
_gaand_ga_*) that distinguish one visitor from another. We use it in aggregate only; we never attempt to identify individuals. - Amazon — when you click through to Amazon, or when your browser loads a product image from Amazon's servers, Amazon may set or read its own cookies. That processing is governed by Amazon's privacy notice, not ours.
- Cloudflare — the site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may set strictly necessary cookies for security and to serve the site reliably.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private window, and the site will still work — nothing here depends on them. To opt out of Google Analytics specifically, use Google's opt-out add-on.
Affiliate links
We take part in the Amazon EU Associates Programme under the tag
bestrevs-21. Product links carry that tag, so if you
buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The tag tells Amazon the
visit came from us; it does not tell us who you are or what you bought — we only ever see anonymous,
aggregated earnings reports.
Commission never influences our rankings. How we actually decide them is set out on our methodology page.
Legal basis and retention
We process analytics data under legitimate interests — understanding which guides are useful so we can improve them. Analytics data is retained by Google for the period configured in our property and is not exported or combined with anything else. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to processing. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, most requests are resolved by pointing at this page — but ask and we'll check properly. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this page
If we add anything that changes what we collect — a newsletter, a comment system, ad partners — we'll update this page and change the date at the top before it goes live.
