What this site is

Editorial buying guides built by aggregating what real owners say in public discussions, with every quote linked to its source, alongside home-service cost estimates. It is independent research and opinion. It is not professional advice, and we are not the manufacturer, retailer or installer of anything we write about.

Accuracy and currency

We research carefully and date every guide, but products change, listings are withdrawn, and prices move constantly. Always check the current price, specification and availability on the retailer's own page before buying — the price bands here are indicative, not live quotes. Cost-guide figures are national and regional averages for budgeting; they are not quotations, and the only reliable price for work on your home is a written quote from a qualified tradesperson.

Quotes from forum discussions are the views of the people who wrote them, not ours, and appear so you can judge the weight of owner opinion for yourself. Where we paraphrase rather than quote verbatim, we label it. If we've got something wrong, tell us — see our corrections policy.
